Meeting at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to our cozy hotel (check-in at 2 pm) that offers hot water, a swimming pool and Internet access. In the evening, we will have a briefing and get ready for the climb.

In the morning, we will have a brief and then drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park. We will enter through Marangu Gate (1,860 meters), the eastern entrance. After registering, we will go across a rainforest and trek to Mandara Hut (2,700 meters).

Hiking distance: 11 kilometers.

Hiking time: 5-7 hours.

After breakfast, we will start a moderate hike to Horombo Hut (3,720 meters). From the hut, we will contemplate great views of Kibo and Mawenzi volcanoes. In the afternoon, we will go for an easy acclimatization hike to 3,920 meters of altitude.

From Mandara to Horombo Hut

Hiking distance: 10 kilometers.

Hiking time: 5-6 hours.

Acclimatization hike:

Hiking distance: 2,5 kilometers.

Hiking time: 1-2 hours.

On day 4, we will take a hike to Kibo Hut, at 4,700 meters of altitude. The trek is not difficult but it is important to maintain a good rythm. We will share lunch in the hut and spend the rest of the day resting.

Hiking distance: 10 kilometers.

Hiking time: 4-8 hours.

Our most expected day is here! We will depart during the night to the Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters), Kilimanjaro’s summit. After reaching our goal, we will descend to Kibo, rest and continue to Horombo Hut.

Hiking distance: 16 kilometers.

Hiking time: 9-12 hours.

Descent from Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate.

Hiking distance: 18 kilometers.

Hiking time: 5-6 hours.

Rest in the hotel and transfer to the Airport.

Note: Hotel check-out is at 11:00 AM. In case you need a late check-out because of an evening flight, there is the option to extend your hotel stay for an extra fee.
